I went through all of it, but I always followed my mum’s tips to maintain my hair and skin.. especially during pregnancy and I’m not bragging about it, I don’t have a single stretch mark on my body. yes!
You heard it right. My pregnancy was not easy.. I used to vomit all day, but still, I didn’t lose my skin or hair.. all thanks to maa and the tips that were probably passed on to her by her mom. I am going to share the good old wisdom. A very simple yet very effective beauty regime that every ‘mom to be’ can follow effortlessly to stay as gorgeous as you are even during those painful days with you all here.
Follow these simple pregnancy tips throughout the nine months before your baby arrives.
1. Tips to keep in mind to cure Stretch Marks during pregnancy: coconut oil or olive oil ( if u don’t like the smell of coconut oil) Just smear it all over your body as a post-shower ritual and rinse it with plain warm water. This will maintain the elasticity of your skin and keep it moisturized to keep the stretch marks at bay .. the lukewarm water rinse will take away that extra oil and your skin will feel silky smooth and not sticky. Believe me .. this remedy will put the most expensive stretch mark creams to shame. This is the most simple pregnancy tips of all.
2. Pregnancy Tips for Pigmentation: In most of the cases it is due to the hormonal changes that your body goes through during pregnancy. It is temporary. But it can be taken care of by regularly cleaning and moisturizing. Just dip a cotton ball in raw milk and cleanse your face. Wash with plain water and apply a few drops of lemon juice, potato juice, and honey. Wash after 3-4 mins with plain water and apply any good sunscreen. This simple routine will not only maintain but can transform your complexion overnight.
3. Tips to follow during pregnancy for Dull Lifeless Hair: Yoghurt (hung curd) with 2 tbs of glycerin. Mix well and apply on your hair like a mask and then shampoo. Do this once in 8-10 days. If this looks tedious then you can rinse your hair with lemon juice or apple cider vinegar (around 2tbs of any of these in one mug water as a final rinse after shampooing).
Alongside, one should also be mindful of healthy and nutritious intake. Drink plenty of water and adequate amount of sleep ought not to be missed.
All the best to you in this very special, beautiful and challenging time. I am sure this time will be full of mood swings and physical changes, full of pangs and palpitations but I hope these curated tips will be of some help. I am going to pass these pregnancy tips to my daughter.
